The Game Is Sold Not Told... said Snoop

We know the saying. I don't completely agree. It's okay for the game to be Told Not Sold. The lack of transparency in our career, education and entrepreneurial journey keep us in a silo. Not everything should be a priced with a premium tag. Sharing our journey with others can be insightful, encouraging and empowering. Sharing resources and knowledge can create access to opportunities that some have only dreamed of.

..and I'm a dreamer. My passion for equal opportunity and access is why I provide so many resources. It's also why I started Accelerated Transformations. I wanted to bring a few verticals into one opportunity. Training. Data. Consulting. Teaching. Research.

Outside of my passion for mentoring and social entrepreneurship, I love everything DATA! I dabble in dashboards a lot but lately I’ve developed a love for my old friend Python!

But if we haven't met, just know I'm passionate about data and research. Both lead to invaluable insights and increase my expertise along several verticals. Throughout college there were opportunities happening in places that I didn't know existed. I networked. I connected to professionals in data and business. I connected to students in tech. I was introduced to GroupMe. Years later came Slack.

In GroupMe I learned of nationwide opportunities for students. I didn't know free programs and training were happening all over the world, it was like my own tech wonderland. I wanted access to them and wanted my friends/classmates to join me. So I began sharing in every group. I became known as a recruiter or "The Plug".

Fast forward a few years, a data career and two non-profits later I created a Twitter. I started sharing there and connecting to so many like-minded professionals in varying verticals.

I even follow a few people I don't always agree with because it brings a different perspective. But I've learned no matter what a person's views are, everyone can appreciate an opportunity to advance their career, business or brand. So I share them. Every shared opportunity impacts at least 1 life. I just saw it today, during the first day of my Data Science for All: Empowerment program. It really made me smile and realize this is why I do it!

If you want to see more of the opportunities you can view them all here and catch my blog posts. I'll be updating them bi-weekly with some of the best tech, entrepreneur, fellowships and funding resources out there. Many have asked and here it is. The first post can be found here: Empowered and Educated Vol. 1.
